hristy and I are definitely suckers for clever industrial design products, and I personally can’t imagine anyone who doesn’t really like The Beatles. So when our buddy Matthew told us about how Apple Ltd. and EMI are releasing a limited edition of apple-shaped USB devices (30,000 units to be exact), packed full of 16GBs worth of classic Beatles titles, including a pretty nifty flash interface, we were both super excited. Unfortunately our excitement was brought down a notch when we learned how much it was selling for, which is approximately £200.00 ($338.00 USD).

Although the price tag is a bit steep, consider how much content you’re getting with the device: 14 stereo Beatles titles, including 13 mini-documentary films about the studio albums, rare photos, original UK album artwork and liner notes (not to mention the clever industrial design of the USB), £200.00 doesn’t actually seem like a lot of money.

From what I’ve read, Apple Ltd. and EMI have decided to make the device available for pre-order, and when you consider how many people in the world are Beatles fans, 30,000 of these custom units isn’t much. So if you want one, you’d better head over to their shop.

In the meantime, I’m hoping someone will leak more product shots of the apple USB. I’m also curious to see what the packaging that houses this little device looks like.
