I‘ve only recently, in the last year, come to know of the works of Jacque Fresco and his Venus Project, so my knowledge of his background is fairly limited. What I do know, however, is that the guy is an incredibly sharp 95 year-old civil engineer, industrial designer, architect, illustrator, and a huge inspiration to me.
What I initially thought were just really amazing sketches and models [see above], were actually proposals and concepts for his Venus Project. Apparently the purpose of the Venus Project is to eliminate poverty, war, prejudice, and homelessness by eliminating the need for money, or as he describes it, “creating a resource-based economy”, and embracing the use and expansion of technology. Sounds a bit sci-fi, right? Definitely looks like it, but apparently the Venus Project is well underway in Venus, Florida, where Mr. Jacque Fresco resides. Apparently you can even schedule tours of his home, which is designed around these very same concepts. Definitely something I’d like to see in person, for sure.
You can learn more about the Venus Project and Jacque Fresco Here.

The whole concept of the idea reminds me of Paolo Soleri, without the futuristic look to his work.
This is great – thanks for posting.

I just recently discovered this idea. I donated 30 dollars on the site after a few hours of research. If this idea became a reality my only fear would be a Eloi type society as in H. G. Wells “The time machine.” Basically a society that becomes weak from generations of having everything provided to them with no involved work or struggle. I guess thats better than war and poverty though.

I would agree to a degree if the case was that we wouldn’t find something else to strive for such as unleashing our creative expressions and quality of existing with one another.
Our current struggle is our own cause of limiting our potential or the abuse of resource usage by the monetary system without proper education or consideration of the aftermath of usage (such as oil )
