Although it seems to have garnered quite the amount of criticism from the biker community, it’s hard to imagine why anyone wouldn’t give the nUCLEUS motorbike concept from NONOBJECT a sporting chance. Throw everything you know about how a motorcycle should look and feel out the window, and what you’re left with is the nUCLEUS, a truly innovative, and incredibly beautiful piece of industrial design (although I’d say that’s a subjective opinion).

I guess I just have a love for very minimal, geometric shapes, so when I see industrial designers incorporate the minimalist (or even Bauhaus) philosophy in their designs, I’m immediately hooked.

Several key reasons why I was immediately sold by the nUCLEUS motorcycle concept, and why you should be too:

  1. The body is based on a hydraulic system when activated.
  2. The side panels are easily removable, and totally customizable.
  3. And last, but not least… It’s as if Dieter Rams took a Cylon Centurian from the original Battlestar Galactica and recycled it into a motorcycle.

With that combination, everybody wins!… or maybe I just have the most ridiculous taste when it comes to motorcycles.
