“I‘m an artist pretending to be a designer” is the definition Network Osaka gives about himself. Involved in design, motion graphics and typography, his love for color, geometry and grid systems can be found in almost any piece of work he produces.

When my interest in Swiss design started growing, I discovered Network Osaka among the best designers for inspiration. His use of grids is unmistakable, always finding a great way of integrating them with simple illustrations and custom typography, along with Helvetica, for good measure.

A detail that I actually find interesting  is his use of black and white photography on his work, letting the color of the background, or random shapes, shine throughout the whole poster.

Although probably joking, if he was serious about being an artist pretending to be a designer, he’s doing a mighty fine job at being an impersonator. Check out his Flickr Photostream if the tease let you a little hungry for more.
