Community Safety

Let’s cut right to it and not mince words; at Colorcubic®, our values are non-negotiable. We adamantly reject fascism, bigotry and systemic oppression in every form. We stand steadfast in our commitment to safety, diversity, equity and inclusion. We believe all Black Lives Matter. We believe in a woman’s bodily autonomy & right to choose. We believe that Trans rights are human rights. We advocate for diversified workforces, and celebrate diverse cultures & communities. We advocate for indigenous rights, autonomy, and sovereignty. We believe in & support marriage equality. And we are fully committed to a truly egalitarian ideological framework as the foundation of our values, both professionally & personally.
Unfortunately, current events have proven to be quite enlightening to which brands are abandoning their disingenuous commitments of upholding diversity, equity and inclusivity, in exchange for elevating exclusionary, discriminatory, racist and xenophobic voices & practices that completely conflict with the values we stand for, as a brand, and compromise the safety of the families, friends, partners and colleagues we represent.
We don’t need to wait for permission to do what’s ethically & morally right. I fully appreciate that doing the right thing is often not politically expedient, easy, or convenient. But if we only do the right thing whenever it’s easy and/or convenient, then our values would be entirely amorphous, disingenuous and performative, rife with empty platitudes, which would completely erode the trust of the communities we’ve worked so hard to build & support.
I think not.
Through careful analysis & consideration, we’re committed to a full divestment away from any & all brands that conflict with our commitments & values.
This includes, but is not limited to:
We can achieve most of these divestments immediately. Unfortunately, Amazon’s AWS will require a more careful transition away from, as some digital product hosting providers that we utilize for our digital product development, leverage AWS for cloud computing & digital infrastructure scalability in their supply chain. This requires us to carefully examine our options as we prepare to transfer digital infrastructure away from AWS, to a hosting provider that better aligns with our values & commitments. We’re also exploring the potential to develop our own vertically integrated, proprietary infrastructure, but this is not an immediate option. As we divest, we’re also actively pursuing partnerships and technologies that reflect the inclusivity, equity, and diversity we champion. I’ll keep you apprised as we continue to make progress on this front.
I invite our clients, partners, colleagues, friends and families to join us in this commitment. Together, we can reject hate & bigotry, while creating safe, diverse, equitable and inclusive spaces that empower us all to thrive.
Sincerely,
– Michael A. John | Colorcubic®
